Christmas Party Planning Tips

1 – Set the Date – If you are having a party at home, you can pick a date to suit you and your guests nearer the time. However, if you are looking at having a Christmas party at a venue in town then you will have to be organised and book the date well in advance.

Try to stick to a date at the end of the week, preferably on Friday or Saturday night. No one really likes to party on a school night and suffer the day after!

Once you have chosen a date put it in the diary and begin with your planning!

2 – Budget – Set your budget.

Whether you are planning a party at home or out at a party venue, knowing how much you have got to spend at the beginning enables you to plan accordingly. Many venues charge more at Christmas, so bear this in mind.

4 – Food & Drink

The food and drink served at your Christmas party is going to be one of the main things that sets your party above the others.

There are many things to consider when thinking about the food and drink.

Are you going to be doing the food or will your budget allow for outside catering?

Will you be doing a full sit-down meal, a buffet, or just canapes and nibbles?

Are you providing all the drinks, or is it bring your own?

5 – Invites –

Once you have got everything in place, the when and the where, you can get your invites ready to send out.

There are a number of companies that are able to design beautiful invites for you, and you will be supporting small business in the process.

A few of our favourites from around the world,  Fifi Rose Creative, a new business with stunning designs based in Australia and two of our favourites in the UK have to be The Label Panda and Honey Cut Creative, both businesses offering beautiful high quality work.

If your budget doesn’t allow for bespoke invites, how about having a go at designing some for yourself. There are a number of apps that can make this a little easier for you , Photastic Collage and Canva being our preferred apps.
